Rest, receive, and return to yourself
Give yourself an afternoon to soften, breathe, and be supported.
Join us at Yoga Among Friends in Downers Grove, IL, for a deeply calming 90-minute workshop that weaves together restorative yoga, breathwork, sound meditation, and quiet intention. This gentle, all-levels experience is designed to help settle the nervous system, ease tension in the body, and create space for a deeper connection to yourself.
Through supported restorative postures, intentional breath, and the healing sounds of chimes and alchemy singing bowls, you will be invited to release what you no longer need to carry and return to a greater sense of steadiness, alignment, and inner ease.
A Practice of Deep Rest
Restorative yoga is a quiet, supported practice that allows the body to open in a passive, restful way.
Using props such as blocks, blankets, bolsters, and chairs, the body is fully supported in supine, prone, and seated postures. Each pose is held for an extended period, usually 3–10 minutes, allowing the muscles to soften, the breath to deepen, and the nervous system to settle.
This is not a strenuous practice. It is an invitation to slow down, receive support, and rest.
Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is a good fit if you are feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, tired, or simply in need of quiet time for yourself.
It is also a supportive choice if you are new to yoga, returning after time away, or looking for a gentle complement to a more active practice.
All levels of experience are welcome.
Sound, Breath, and Stillness
After the restorative yoga practice, Ashley will guide a sound meditation using chimes and alchemy singing bowls.
Sound healing can help quiet the thinking mind and create a meditative environment where the body can continue to soften. As the sound moves through the room, you will be invited to listen, breathe, and let yourself be held by the experience.
Together, the restorative postures, breathwork, and sound meditation create a workshop that supports the body, mind, and soul.
