Why does happiness so often feel just out of reach? In her newest book, The Kleshas: Exploring the Elusiveness of Happiness, Deborah Adele explores the five root causes of human suffering described in yoga philosophy and how they shape the way we see ourselves and the world.

The Yoga Sutras teach that the kleshas create “appealing truths” that look satisfying but ultimately keep us trapped in cycles of need and dissatisfaction. Adele brings these ancient insights into everyday life, showing us how the kleshas appear in our thoughts and choices, and offering simple, attainable practices to loosen their grip.

Join us for a two-part book study as we dive into Adele’s thoughtful reflections and practical guidance. Together, we’ll explore how the kleshas show up in our daily lives and discover tools to live with more clarity, freedom, and peace.

This study is open to all, whether you are new to yoga philosophy or continuing to deepen your practice. Through reading, reflection, and conversation, we’ll create a supportive space for learning and growth.

All are welcome—no prior reading or background in yoga philosophy is needed to join the conversation. Reserve your spot today and join us as we journey into the heart of yoga wisdom.

What to Expect

  • Interactive Sessions: Attend in person or join via Zoom for a shared space of learning and reflection.

  • Deep Exploration: Each month, we’ll focus on specific sections of the book, diving into topics such as practicing asana and pranayama, overcoming obstacles, and cultivating mindfulness.

  • Practical Application: Explore how to embody the principles of yoga both on and off the mat.

Marian Kraus with Gongs

About Marian

Marian generates a broad spectrum of fascinating rhythms and functional harmonics by exploring the full range of frequencies within his instruments ranging from shimmering explosive highs to deep mysterious lows. His meditative and transformative sound journeys are driven by his innate rhythmic hand drum abilities and keen sense of visual and intuitive perception. The result is that these sonic, vibrational and mystical characteristics energize and quiet the mind & body in a very unique fashion. His gong sound meditations are psychoacoustic gateways to higher states of awareness and consciousness. They provide spaces for inner healing while taking listeners into truly otherworldly realms.

After spending 20 years in the corporate world, he began his career as a professional architectural and fine art photographer in the Chicago area in 1999. By being a long time hand drummer, he expanded his creative repertoire by expressing images also through the sound of gongs. Marian is a member of the Sound Healers Association and refines his advanced interpretation and application of gong sound healing under the guidance of senior instructor, lecturer and teacher Mitch Nur, PhD of

Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT™) is a self-care relaxation practice that layers gentle mindful movements, breath awareness, restorative yoga poses, meditation, reiki and essential oils to reduce the symptoms that many people face in daily life such as pain, anxiety, insomnia, exhaustion and stress.

UZIT (pronounced use-it) promotes a sense of centering, calm, and joy by integrating gentle yoga movement, restorative yoga, breath awareness, Reiki, essential oils, and presence. It restores, re-connects, and rebalances. This class is for everyone who may be feeling exhausted, anxious, in pain, or just not as vital as they would like. Students will learn breathing and self-reiki techniques in restorative poses, along with aromatherapy, which they can use at home.

This is a semi-private class for those seeking to expand their yoga practice and learn how to live yoga on and off the mat. This two-hour workshop will include a safe space for gentle practice, meditation, journaling, and connecting with like-minded women.

Registration is highly encouraged, max part. 25

Yoga and Meditation

An Unforgettable Experience with Laura Jane Mellencamp

Using the practice of yoga and meditation, Laura Jane has designed this week to support you in exploring the tools of stilling the mind and embracing your authentic self. The yoga classes will blend the disciplines of vinyasa flow with a strong emphasis on pranayama and meditation to still the roaming mind, calm the system, and live in a state of balance. They will cover the fundamental principles underlying the therapeutic application of yoga and how to incorporate these principles into your practice. Work to dissolve old blockages, unravel samskaras, and create new pathways to vibrant health and happiness. The result will be one of the most incredible, unforgettable yoga experiences you will ever have.

This week is a perfect balance between rest and play. Laura has discovered through leading and attending many retreats that traveling together and saying yes to life and its opportunities in the moment create lasting friendships and a gratitude for life’s abundance that will last forever.
