Join us as Dr. Avanti Kumar-Singh teaches practical and simple strategies, based on the ancient healing system of Ayurveda*, to adapt your diet and daily routines to help you feel better fast.  You’ll also learn how to use meditation and food to support your mind, body and spirit.

*Ayurveda, a healing system that originated in India 5,000 years ago, treats the whole person rather than simply treating individual symptoms.  It teaches that all health-related measures center on an understanding of an individual’s unique mind-body constitution and must address diet, daily routines, mindfulness, movement and lifestyle.

Avanto Kumar-Singh, M.D. is a physician who, after medical training in emergency medicine, began a journey to find her joy again and to help people truly heal.  This calling has led her to training in a variety of healing traditions and modalities:  Ayurveda, energy healing modalities including Pranic Healing and Reiki, plant-based nutrition and Yoga Therapy.  She integrates these intuitive healing systems and traditions in her writing, research and teaching.  She lectures extensively to medical students and physicians, as well as a broad-range of audiences throughout the country.  The subjects of these talks range from scientific talks on various traditional healing systems to interactive dialogues on meditation, yoga, lifestyle and nutrition.

Over the years of her training, study and research, Dr. Avanti has been featured in the Huffington Post and was a member of’s review board—Turner media’s former health and wellness entertainment brand.  She is also on the Advisors Council for the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern, the integrative medical arm of Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Avanti holds a BA in Art History from the University of Chicago and an MD from Rush University College of Medicine.  She is currently working on her first book, is an avid artist and yogini and lives in the Chicago area with her husband and two daughters. Learn more about Dr. Avanti at
