Why students begin

People come to Yoga Among Friends for many reasons: to move with more ease, build strength, reduce stress, quiet the mind, sleep better, or reconnect with themselves.

You do not need a single perfect reason. Your practice can meet you where you are.

What to expect at your first class

Your first visit does not need to be perfect. Give yourself a little extra time, ask questions, and let your teacher know you’re new.

Wear something comfortable.
You do not need special yoga clothes. Choose clothing you can move and breathe in.

Arrive a few minutes early.
Give yourself time to settle in, find your space, and let the teacher know it’s your first class.

Tell your teacher about injuries or concerns.
Our teachers can offer options and help you practice safely.

Move at your own pace.
You are welcome to rest, modify, or pause at any time.

Stay for the final rest.
Savasana gives your body and mind a few quiet moments to absorb the practice.
