Due to limited class size we are unable to accept drop-in students.  Also, we are now requiring all students to register online for this class (to better help us gauge and track interest). If the class fills, we will schedule an additional class on Tuesdays from 7:15–8:15pm. 

Meditation can be difficult to do it on your own and finding a meditation group can provide the necessary encouragement for developing a consistent practice.

During this 6 week class, you will be supported in the process of reconnecting to a place of deep relaxation and inner calm. Whether you are new to meditation or a seasoned meditator, you will feel a real connection with others as we sit together and meditate.

Every week you will be guided through a different meditation, focusing on breath, mantra, visualization and body scan. These meditation tools with help you continue your meditation practice at home, work or school. Afterwards, you will have the option to discuss and share your experiences about the meditations.

Prenatal Yoga is designed to reduce the aches and pains which accompany pregnancy, in a nurturing and supportive environment. The class teaches strength and stamina, as well as concentration and breath control. You will focus on special breathing techniques, opening the hips, and preparing your body for birth. Learn techniques to alleviate lower back pain, leg pain and slumping posture by practicing gentle, modified yoga poses and breathing exercises. Prenatal yoga class is also a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with other pregnant women and celebrate your changing bodies and growing babies. Appropriate for expectant mothers at all stages of pregnancy.

This unique class is taught by Therese Carlson RN, CYT - a registered nurse and yoga teacher. She is the mother of 3 young adults. Therese just completed her 500hr Teacher Training at Prairie Yoga and certified through Global Yoga Center in Chicago for Prenatal Yoga. She also works as a nurse in the community. Therese uses her 33 years of nursing experience and her love of yoga to nurture, strengthen and guide moms-to-be through this exciting journey.

Yoga essentials are incorporated to encourage healthy habits, concentration and memory, limber bodies, and sleep-filled nights. This is a class that offers children a freedom from curriculum and competition where creativity, confidence, and courage can flourish. It encourages them to explore their own emotional and physical capabilities and enjoy the peacefulness of relaxation.

A committment is encouraged as each class will build upon the previous classes. This is a great on-going tool for a lifetime of balanced health!

Summer Teen Meditation is for teens who want to explore meditation and mindfulness in daily life. We emphasize a safe, respectful, and fun community where we can all learn from each other. 

The classes give teens a foundation in mindfulness meditation: learning to relax and ground oneself, to know the difference between experiencing life and being on autopilot, to observe what is happening inside oneself, to offer kindness and acceptance to oneself, and to pause before automatically reacting to a situation.

Mindfulness is about being present for your life. When you practice mindfulness, you make friends with yourself and the world around you. You begin to notice an inner stillness that is there even when things are stressful or chaotic. You pay attention to the present moment in a way that allows you to respond, rather than react.

  • Attend the Sunday 9-10:15am Hatha Vinyasa Drop-in Yoga classes designed to open your chakra through the asana, pranayama, bandhas, and mudras.
  • Afterwards, meet in the small room from 10:30 to 11:30am for meditation with mudras and mantra recitation, self-reflection, journaling (bring journals), processing, and Pratipaksha Bhavan (positive affirmations) practices
  • Receive a Follow-up Email after each session with the recap and guidance for daily intentions and practices
  • Receive Audio Recordings with the yoga class and meditation session that week.

The cost of the retreat is $2015 double occupancy with a $600 deposit due at time of booking. Refund/Cancellation

Payment will be refunded less a $200 cancellation fee, if this request is received in writing by January 2, 2018. Any refund requests postmarked after January 2 will be granted only if the cancelled reservation can be filled.
