Explore a variety of yoga styles at the Yoga Among Friends.

YAF offers classes in both traditional modes such as Iyengar as well as more modern variations such as Vinyasa. It is our goal to provide students with a strong knowledge base of alignment, a broad range of yoga fundamentals and an understanding of the core principles. We feel that yoga is a set of tools which enables one to safely explore the body, mind and spirit and how they co-exist on the highest levels of strength, health, flexibility, awareness and pure enjoyment.

Though each type of yoga has its own unique qualities which are described below, each style comes from the same root and they share many common elements so they compliment each other well. We encourage students to sample different styles, levels and teachers to find the most appropriate and inspiring class for themselves.

If you are at a loss on which class might be best for you, please don't hesitate to call us at 630-590-5488 or send us an email. We'll be more than happy to assist you is finding that perfect class.

Yoga Nidra Meditation
Yoga Nidra is a tool we take into the world to help us navigate the onslaught of daily life. It is taught as a guided meditation that we mold into a personal practice. Physically and energetically, it produces deep relaxation. Mentally and emotionally, it helps us recognize and release uncomfortable habitual patterns. Spiritually, it is a guide to answering the big questions like “Who am I?” Ultimately Yoga Nidra offers us an unshakeable peace that remains even in the most difficult times of physical pain, interpersonal conflict and current events.
